Who are The Sixsters, Ukrainian teenage all-girl punk-rock band takes stage at Glastonbury’s Woodsies

The Sixsters, an all-young lady underground rock band comprised of Ukrainian teens, depicted their presentation at Glastonbury as “very extraordinary.”

On Friday morning, the five-piece underground rock bunch, which comprised of little kids between the ages of 13 and 18, performed on Glastonbury’s Woodsies stage.

Drummer Kateryna told the Dad news organization after the band’s exhibition: “It was absolutely astounding. The group was magnificent. The stage was magnificent.

“Each individual who works there is simply giving their best for help the craftsmen’s presentation. Super, very inconceivable.” She said Glastonbury was a “truly, really big celebration, one of the biggest, and it implies a great deal for us, it’s simply astonishing feelings.”

The band began in 2018 in a little Ukrainian town close to Kyiv when the young ladies were essentially as youthful as seven years of age. It has since delivered two collections in Ukrainian and one in English.

Kateryna portrayed the band’s music as “fiery”, adding: “You can move to it and simply have a good time, yet additionally we have a lot of miserable tunes that are more significant.”

With assistance from the New York-based not-for-profit Children Rock for Youngsters, which offers tweens and adolescents the chance to perform in front of an audience while bringing in cash for a noble cause, the band started visiting Ukraine in 2019.

The young ladies left Ukraine in February 2022 after Russia attacked it, moving to Essen, Germany, where they are as yet based today.

Gary Fortune, a board part for Youngsters Rock for Youngsters and the band’s mentor, said of the gathering’s “music past their years” in an explanation to the Dad news organization.

Playing at Glastonbury will be the “beginning of significantly more consideration” for the band, he said, adding, “We’re only searching for amazing open doors for them to help them en route.”

Fortune said he previously contacted Glastonbury to endeavor to book a space for The Sixsters with something like two months to go before the celebration started and got an opening on the Woodsies stage.
