What happened to Andy Rourke? Tributes pour in as The Smiths’ bassist passes away at the age of 59

Notable artist Andy Rourke as of late died on May 19, 2023, at 59 years old. He combat pancreatic disease for quite a while, which at last prompted his destruction. Rourke earned respect as an individual from the Manchester-based musical crew The Smiths.

The Smiths’ guitarist, Johnny Marr, reported the news via virtual entertainment as he composed:

“It is with profound bitterness that we declare the death of Andy Rourke after an extensive sickness with pancreatic disease. Andy will be recognized as a sort and wonderful soul by the individuals who knew him and as a remarkably gifted performer by music fans. We demand protection at this miserable time.”

Marr shared a post on Facebook as he gave fans a brief look into the recollections he made with Rourke throughout the long term. He referenced that he met Rourke in school in 1975 and that he moved to his home at 15 years old.

“Andy and I invested all our energy concentrating on music, having a great time and dealing with turning into the best performers we might actually be. In those days Andy was a guitar player and a decent one at that, yet it was the point at which he got the bass that he would find his actual calling and his particular ability would thrive.”

Marr referenced that he last played with Andy and the band at Madison Square Nursery in September last year.

Andy Rourke became well known throughout the years for his immaculate work as a bassist with various groups and craftsmen. A few fans took to Twitter and honored the craftsman after they caught wind of his end.

Andy Rourke fostered an interest in music when he was 11 years of age and exited school at 15 years old. He before long took on various positions and started playing instruments for different groups.

The Smiths was shaped in 1982 by Johnny Marr and Steven Morrissey and Rourke went along with them that very year. They were subsequently joined by Mike Joyce and Craig Gannon. The band delivered its self-named debut collection in 1984 and this was trailed by three more. They delivered their most recent collection, Strangeways, Here We Come in 1987.

The band isolated because of interior debates in 1987 however Rourke kept on working with different groups and craftsmen. Rourke laid out another band called D.A.R.K. with Ole Koretsky and Dolores O’Riordan and their main collection to date is Science Concurs, delivered in 2016. Andy was likewise the pioneer behind another band called Barrage Vega.

Rourke is made due by his better half Francesca Mor and the couple were hitched starting around 2012.
